Bred from different backgrounds, one from a poor family; the other from a middle-class family, but both meet in a strange land by chance, a land they enter as illegal immigrants.
Defying various odds in their early years in the city of Cardiff, they become successful, meeting eventually to become husband and wife. As a couple they are made to wait for years for the fruit of the womb; and when it comes, their joy becomes the petals of roses.
And just like roses, not minding the ridicule they go through in the hands of friends, neighbours, and relatives, they remain resolute in their love and loyalty to each other. What they pass through in the hands of people around them as a result of their childlessness can be seen as thorns seen in the stem of rose flowers.
Despite all these, their love for each remains immutable, never to be broken by these vicissitudes of life; love, and loyalty that can be best described as immortal roses.
